Since 1881, the First Spiritualist Church of San Diego has been a vibrant beacon of illumination, progress, and spiritual growth. Founded by visionaries who sought to build a more tolerant and open-minded community, our legacy is built on the enduring truth that love leads and Spirit lives. Today, we proudly honor that heritage by nurturing a sacred, inclusive space where all are welcome—regardless of background, walk of life, identity, orientation, or belief system.

Pastor
Rev. Iris Ortiz brings warmth, deep wisdom, and a mother’s heart to everything she does. As a mother of two grown daughters and a proud grandmother to four cherished grandchildren, her path is grounded in family, love, and community.
Iris’s spiritual journey took a profound turn in 2008 in Sonora, Mexico, when she was blessed with the gift of vision through her Indigenous Spirit guides. Ever curious and deeply committed to her calling, she has spent years traveling the globe—from Mexico to Africa and beyond—learning from sacred traditions and exploring the endless depths of the spiritual world. As a Reiki Master, Theta Healing practitioner, and gifted psychic medium, she weaves compassionate energy healing with gentle spiritual guidance.
First Spiritualist became Iris’s spiritual home in 2012. Today, as Head Reverend, her greatest joy is sharing the knowledge, healing, and light she has gathered along the way, helping every seeker unlock their own intuitive path.

Rev. Vicki Winter
Assistent Pastor
Rev. Vicki Winters’s spiritual awakening began during the historic 2010 San Diego Easter earthquake—a moment of deep transformation that opened her heart and intuitive gifts alongside her beloved daughters, Kelly and Jewel. What started with spirit photography evolved into a lifelong calling dedicated to mediumship and the art of energy healing.
After coming to First Spiritualist Church in 2016, Vicki found what her soul had been searching for: a sanctuary of pure love, genuine connection, and belonging. Driven by a passion to serve others, she became an Ordained Minister and has completed more than 18 specialized programs, mastering modalities such as Advanced Universal Healing,Transformational Healing, Healing with the Energy of Jesus, and Crystal Healing.
As Assistant Pastor, Rev. Vicki brings a compassionate, grounded presence to our community, holding space for others to heal, awaken their inner light, and discover that they are never truly lost—only waiting to be found.
